About Ulla Lundgren

Ulla Lundgren is
a certified Anusara Yoga teacher. Her
first experience with yoga was in her native
Sweden in the mid-80s. Acting (her former
vocation) brought her to Los Angeles in
1988, where she began her continuous yoga
asana practice a year later. Ulla began
teaching in 1995 after receiving her first
yoga teacher certification. That same year,
she began studying Ashtanga vinyasa yoga
with Tim Miller and David Swenson; for the
next 6 years, Ulla continued her studies
with Tim and David.
In the fall of 2001, Ulla met John Friend
and fell in love with Anusara Yoga. After
more than 800 hours of Anusara Yoga studies
including numerous teacher trainings and
apprenticing with John Friend and other
senior Anusara Yoga instructors, Ulla
received her Anusara Yoga certification in
the fall of 2005.
Currently, Ulla is the Director and owner of
the Yoga Experience where she teaches weekly
classes. She also teaches workshops,
immersions, and teachers trainings in the
U.S. and Europe. One of her main sources of
inspiration in life and for teaching yoga
are her brilliant teachers Anusara Yoga's
founder John Friend and Dr. Douglas Brooks.
Dr. Brooks is one of the world's foremost
scholars of Hindu Tantrism and the esoteric
traditions of the Goddess. Ulla integrates
yoga philosophy, myths, and stories in to
her Anusara Yoga classes. Her teaching style
is a blend of fun and adventure balanced
with mindful attention to physical alignment
as well as alignment with one's heart, inner
intensions, and hopes for living a truly
meaningful life.
When she is not
teaching, studying, or practicing yoga, Ulla
enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff,
going to the movies, hiking, and hanging out
in her garden with her feline family
members.
